A long established UK stockholder of hot and cold work tool steel, plastic mould and high speed steels in flat form and diameters. Specialist steels include TC086 for brick liners and EN24t in flat form.
Recently purchased by an Austrian specialist steel producer means that Forge-Met can offer, as well as the above; stainless, duplex/super duplex steels in forgings - bars in flats and diameters, blanks, billets and rings in a semi-finished or finished condition.
Parent company
Our parent company Schmiedetechnik Breitenfeld, based in Austria, is one of the most up to date steels producers in the world. Worthy of a mention, Breitenfeld's melting facilities include a 50 tonne Electric Arc Furnace with VD & VOD; two operational ESR plants, one commissioned in 2005 and the other commissioned in 2007, with a third on order which should be operational sometime in 2008; a VAR plant and a recently modernised heat treatment facility capable of heat treating items of 6 metres in length.
This progressive company can supply a range of products specifically to customers order specification and is well known within the industry for quick and on time deliveries.
Announcement - Brand New Kasto Plate Saw
Installation of the brand new Kasto plate saw has now been completed. We have invested in this new piece of machinery due to the amount of pressure being placed upon our 2.2 metre plate saw, which has not stopped working since its installation in October 2005. The new saw has helped in reducing lead times to our customers.
